Diamond's are a girl's best friend ....

- or at least they are at Epping Library! A lot of rugs which were started earlier this year are being completed - and many feature diamonds. I take my hat off to people who have the spatial ability to plan rugs in this way.

First, Virginia (on the left) with a rug knitted from donated yarn and some of the yarn bought with our grant from the North Epping Community Bank. Well done, Virginia!

Then a rug knitted by Brigid from bits and pieces of yarn she had collected - again, a clever use of stripes has produced a diamond effect - what an effort!

Joyce (left) has also finished the rug she has been working on. I love the use of textured yarn to join and edge the blanket - it's different and fun - I think a few of us will be copying this idea:

Valarie (left) has also been bitten by the diamond bug resulting in another stunning blanket:
This rug was knitted with wool purchased with the grant from North Epping Community Bendigo Bank.

Last year the girls from Meriden School presented us with a beautiful rug for WWL, and this year they have finished two! That is a great effort girls - thank you for your donation.
Rug made by Meriden School.
Another rug from Meriden.

A friend of Beatriz  donated a rug's worth of squares and Brigid joined these together and edged them - cute and colourful - thank you to Beatriz's friend and to Brigid:

Last but not least, some baby jackets knitted by Leslie for the street stalls run by The Friends of the Shack, the local youth outreach centre which is dependent on grants, donations and fund raising for its continued existence. Thank you Leslie - you are a beautiful knitter:
